It’s harvest season! We are celebrating our farmers and ranchers. In this edition of our newsletter, we are featuring the First Annual Heritage Day, exhibit tours, and our film series. Moulton Museum was rated as one of the top 15 Best Things to Do in Laguna Hills by Travel Lens Stop by soon!

Visit us on Tuesdays from 11am-3pm and on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays by appointment to explore 1874: Into the West and Nellie's Gallery. We are scheduling group tours. Taste a piece of history with our Mathis Ranch almonds (Blue Diamond) shared with guests.

Did you know?

  • October 7, 1886- Marie Eugenia (Jennie) Duguet Daguerre married Jean Pierre at the Amestoy residence.
  • October 8, 1808- Lewis’ father, Jotham Tilden Moulton (1808-1881) also known as John, was born in Bucksport, ME.
  • October 15, 1848 – John Lockwood Gail was born in Illinois. He served as a private in the US Army during the Civil War at the age of 17.
  • October 23,1971 – Jared Mathis was born to Glenn and Marion Mathis. He is our Moulton Museum President and CEO of Moulton Company.
  • October 28, 1964- Franklin Lockwood Barnes III was born at “Stork Club” Sharp Hospital in San Diego.

Jennifer Keil and Cindy Keil, the Moulton Museum Directors, are training volunteers who will provide tours. Here they are with the Laguna Woods History Center who scheduled a private tour with them.

Learn about the history of our area and become a docent. Join us on Thursday, October 27th 2pm for our docent training.
