Happy Birthday, Nellie!
December 8, 1878 - Nellie Gail Moulton was born in Irving, Kansas to John Lockwood Gail (1848–1926) and Prudence Adelia Stoneman Gail (1853–1894). Nellie showcased her first piece of art at the Chicago World Fair in 1893 at the children's center near the age of this photo. December 30, 1914 - Louise Marie Moulton was born to Nellie at 36 years old and Lewis at 60 years old in El Toro at the Moulton Ranch.
Moulton Museum's Featured Collection
The far left photo features Domingo Daguerre and Charlotte Moulton, circa 1925 (2021.04) Jill Tipton has been working on a genealogical project for her family. She is the granddaughter of Jean Baptiste "JB" Amestoy and Francoise Hauret Amestoy. She has traced her ancestry to Basque pioneer, Domingo Amestoy, her great-great paternal grandfather. Domingo was a sheep rancher and wheat farmer in the 1860-80s at the Rosecranz Ranch and Encino Ranch. She digitized her family photo albums and provided us with a hard copy that contains images from the Encino Ranch and Moulton Ranch. The physical albums are house at the Autry Museum.
