Mr. Lewis Moulton,
Very Dear Companion,
I would like to let you know that the desert is very dry. There isn’t anything. On the way [here] we had a lot of work and a lot of misery as far as water and meadow. The animals are quite hurt [injured]. I have lost some. Last night it snowed on the mountain range and water in the desert. Maybe now we will be a little better.
And would like that if you send the bulls if you can by the 20th [of the month] to Mojave without fail and send a man with them and a good shepherd because I have one that isn’t worth anything. You can send him along with the bull fighter.
Much affection to you and you wife, and to my family [Without anything else to say], I wait for news from you
Jean Pierre Daguerre
