Join us for a conversation with the filmmakers of 1874: Into the West. This ten-minute film captures Lewis Fenno Moulton’s journey from Boston to California, his subsequent rise from shepherd to landowner, and his struggle to cope with the worst drought in one hundred twenty-five years.
The evening will begin with a screening of 1874 followed by an informal, panel-style discussion between museum director Jennifer Keil, director Jon “Jags” Nee and screenwriter Scott T. Barnes. Discover the art of bringing archival letters to life through words, pictures, animation and editing. Light refreshments and dessert will be available.
