1874: Into the West Film Premiere

Moulton Museum had a film premiere of 1874: Into the West on November 3, 2022. We had the filmmakers of 1874: Into the West showcase the ten-minute film. The exhibit media experience captures Lewis Fenno Moulton’s journey from Boston to California, his subsequent rise from shepherd to landowner, and his struggle to cope with the worst drought in one hundred twenty-five years.

The evening had an informal, panel-style discussion between museum director Jennifer Keil, director Jon “Jags” Nee and screenwriter Scott T. Barnes. Our guests had a Q&A about discovering the art of bringing archival letters to life through words, pictures, animation and editing.

Visit the museum to view 1874: Into the West.
